Mathayo 16:24-25

[24]Wakati huo Yesu aliwaambia wanafunzi wake, Mtu ye yote akitaka kunifuata, na ajikane mwenyewe, ajitwike msalaba wake, anifuate.

[25]Kwa kuwa mtu atakaye kuiokoa nafsi yake, ataipoteza; na mtu atakayepoteza nafsi yake kwa ajili yangu, ataiona.

Marko 15:21-22

[21]Wakamshurutisha mtu aliyekuwa akipita, akitoka mashamba, Simoni Mkirene, baba yao Iskanda na Rufo, ili auchukue msalaba wake.

[22]Wakamleta mpaka mahali paitwapo Golgotha, yaani, Fuvu la kichwa.

Translation.

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
