1 Samweli 15:23-28

[23]Kwani kuasi ni kama dhambi ya uchawi, 

Na ukaidi ni kama ukafiri na vinyago; 

Kwa kuwa umelikataa neno la BWANA, 

Yeye naye amekukataa wewe usiwe mfalme.

[24]Ndipo Sauli akamwambia Samweli, Nimefanya dhambi; maana nimeihalifu amri ya BWANA, pia na maneno yako; kwa sababu naliwaogopa wale watu, nikaitii sauti yao.

[25]Basi sasa, nakuomba, unisamehe dhambi yangu; rudi pamoja nami, nipate kumwabudu BWANA.

[26]Samweli akasema, Sitarudi pamoja nawe; kwa sababu umelikataa neno la BWANA, BWANA naye amekukataa wewe, usiwe mfalme wa Israeli.

[27]Naye Samweli alipogeuka, aende zake, Sauli akaushika upindo wa vazi lake, nalo likararuka.

[28]Basi Samweli akamwambia, Leo BWANA amekurarulia ufalme wa Israeli, naye amempa jirani yako, aliye mwema kuliko wewe.

TRANSLATION.

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

1 Samuel:15:23

And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.

1 Samuel:15:24

Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD.

1 Samuel:15:25

And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.

1 Samuel:15:26

And as Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent.

1 Samuel:15:27

And Samuel said unto him, The LORD hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbor of thine, that is better than thou.
