Hesabu 14:1-10
[1]Mkutano wote wakapaza sauti zao wakalia; watu wakatoka machozi usiku ule.
[2]Kisha wana wa Israeli wote wakamnung’unikia Musa na Haruni; mkutano wote wakawaambia, Ingekuwa heri kama tungalikufa katika nchi ya Misri, au, ingekuwa heri kama tungalikufa katika jangwa hili.
[3]Mbona BWANA anatuleta mpaka nchi hii ili tuanguke kwa upanga? Wake zetu na watoto wetu watakuwa mateka; je! Si afadhali turudi Misri?
[4]Wakaambiana, Na tumweke mtu mmoja awe akida, tukarudi Misri.
[5]Ndipo Musa na Haruni wakaanguka kifudifudi mbele ya mkutano wa kusanyiko la wana wa Israeli.
[6]Na Yoshua mwana wa Nuni, na Kalebu mwana wa Yefune, waliokuwa miongoni mwao walioipeleleza nchi, wakararua nguo zao;
[7]wakanena na mkutano wote wa wana wa Israeli wakasema, Nchi ile tuliyopita kati yake ili kuipeleleza, ni nchi njema mno ya ajabu.
[8]Ikiwa BWANA anatufurahia, atatuingiza katika nchi hii atupe iwe yetu, nayo ni nchi yenye wingi wa maziwa na asali.
[9]Lakini msimwasi BWANA, wala msiwaogope wale wenyeji wa nchi, maana wao ni chakula kwetu; uvuli uliokuwa juu yao umeondolewa, naye BWANA yu pamoja nasi; msiwaogope.
[10]Lakini mkutano wote wakaamuru wapigwe kwa mawe. Ndipo utukufu wa BWANA ukaonekana katika hema ya kukutania, mbele ya wana wa Israeli wote.
And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.
Numbers:14:1
And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!
Numbers:14:2
And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?
Numbers:14:3
And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.
Numbers:14:4
Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.
Numbers:14:5
And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes:
Numbers:14:6
And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land.
Numbers:14:7
If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.
Numbers:14:8
Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defense is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.
Numbers:14:9
But all the congregation bade stone them with stones. And the glory of the LORD appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel.
