Luka 2:22-32

[22]Kisha, zilipotimia siku za kutakasika kwao, kama ilivyo torati ya Musa walikwenda naye hata Yerusalemu, wamweke kwa Bwana, 

And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord;

[23](kama ilivyoandikwa katika sheria ya Bwana, Kila mtoto mwanamume aliye kifungua mimba ya mamaye na aitwe mtakatifu kwa Bwana), 

(As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;)

[24]wakatoe na sadaka, kama ilivyonenwa katika sheria ya Bwana, Hua wawili au makinda ya njiwa wawili. 

And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.

[25]Na tazama, pale Yerusalemu palikuwa na mtu, jina lake Simeoni, naye ni mtu mwenye haki, mcha Mungu, akiitarajia faraja ya Israeli; na Roho Mtakatifu alikuwa juu yake. 

And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.

[26]Naye alikuwa ameonywa na Roho Mtakatifu ya kwamba hataona mauti kabla ya kumwona Kristo wa Bwana. 

And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.

[27]Basi akaja hekaluni ameongozwa na Roho; na wale wazazi walipomleta mtoto Yesu ndani, ili wamfanyie kama ilivyokuwa desturi ya sheria, 

And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,

[28]yeye mwenyewe alimpokea mikononi mwake, akamshukuru Mungu, akisema, 

Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,

[29]Sasa, Bwana, wamruhusu mtumishi wako, 

Kwa amani, kama ulivyosema; 

Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:

[30]Kwa kuwa macho yangu yameuona wokovu wako, 

For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,

[31]Uliouweka tayari machoni pa watu wote; 

Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;

[32]Nuru ya kuwa mwangaza wa Mataifa, 

Na kuwa utukufu wa watu wako Israeli. 

A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.
